M.4 X-lock® is a knee brace with a rigid frame. It is designed to guide and stabilise the knee joint. At the same time, the extent of bending and straightening (flexion and extension) can be individually adjusted. Injured structures can be relieved and treatment positively influenced with the brace.

Often the knee must not bear weight for some time after operation on the patella (kneecap), cartilage or tendons. Depending on the recommendation of the attending doctor, the M.4 X-lock® can be used for early mobilisation and treatment-appropriate weight-bearing. For example, it provides support, if the knee may only be loaded in full extension or only be bent when non-weight bearing.

The lock mechanism enables a quick change between immobilisation in a fully extended position (extension) and an therapy-appropriate freedom of movement - depending on the situation and needs. For example, after consultation with the doctor, the first supine mobilisation exercises are possible. The degree of freedom of movement can be set using the flexion- and extension wedges.

Among other things, the M.4 X-lock® knee brace with its rigid frame can be used for the following indications:

• After meniscus intervention
• After cartilage surgery
• Postoperatively after patellar or quadriceps tendon ruptures
• Postoperatively after fractures of the patella (kneecap)
• After restraint operations of the patella (e.g. MPFL reconstruction)
• Non-surgical treatment of patellar dislocations
• After cruciate ligament ruptures (post-traumatic / postoperative)
• After collateral ligament ruptures (post-traumatic / postoperative)
• For instability of the knee

The M.4 X-lock® knee brace stabilises the knee joint according to the 4-point-stabilisation principle, while the special physioglide hinge mimics the roll / glide movement of the knee. The simple switch between immobilisation in full extension and freedom of movement can be set within these defined ranges:

• Extension: 0°, 10°, 20°, 30°, 45°
• Flexion: 0°, 10°, 20°, 30°, 45°, 60°, 75°, 90°
• Immobilisation: 0°, 10°, 20°, 30°, 45°

M.4 X-lock® is available for both the right and left knees in sizes XS to XXL.

Intended purpose
Rgid brace designed to guide and stabilise the knee joint using limitations for extension / flexion.

All indications requiring a physiological guidance and stabilization of the knee joint and / or relief of the joint in two directions such as:

• Meniscus intervention
• Cartilage surgery
• Meniscus refixation
• Postoperative after patellar or quadriceps tendon ruptures
• Postoperative after fractures of patella
• Restraint operations of the patella (e.g. MPFL reconstruction)
• Nonsurgical therapy of patellar dislocations
• Cruciate ligament ruptures (conservative / postoperative)
• Collateral ligament ruptures (conservative / postoperative)
