The knee is a complex system and one of the most stressed joints in the body. Tendons, ligaments and muscles provide stability. Knee pain and injuries entail severe restrictions. Knee orthoses encourage successful therapy and rapid rehabilitation.

The potential applications are versatile: After an operation on a cruciate ligament rupture, a meniscus injury or with gonarthrosis, for example, a hard frame orthosis can be used. A soft orthosis, on the other hand, may be the better choice when it comes to stabilising the inner or outer ligament.

The opinion polling Institut für Demoskopie in Allensbach investigated whether orthoses change perception of pain.1 The result: 66% of pain patients needed fewer or no painkillers thanks to their support or orthosis.
